We are so excited that you are considering joining us to volunteer with KSP and get to know Ivory Coast!  This is a small voluntourism (volunteering / tourism) trip to see the school, work on a community project with the KSP.  If you’re interested, please read below, the requirements, important dates, and information about what to expect.


Requirements:

  • Ability travel internationally

  • Tourist visa within 48 hours of departure 

  • Passport valid at least six (6) months with at least one (1) blank page

  • Yellow Fever vaccination from a registered vaccination center 

  • Optional - Sign up for Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) so that in the event of an emergency, it’s easier to locate you

Confirm to join - ASAP

  • Depart San Francisco - October 3, 2022

  • Arrive in Ivory Coast - October 4, 2022

  • Depart Ivory Coast - October 17, 2022

  • Arrive San Francisco - October 18, 2022

Flight info

Travelers are encouraged to check in with Evelyne and book their flights within the dates listed above. 

Accommodations  

All volunteers will reside in a secure private apartment building operated by one of local partners Morris Properties Prices will vary depending on the number of people in their party and the number of nights. Payment will be made according to the number of nights and the size of the apartment. All volunteers will be reside in the same secured building where they will picked up and dropped off

Transportation

All transportation cost will be paid for in advance by volunteers based on numbers of days.

Currency/Money

In addition to cost that will be paid for in advance to secure the trip, volunteers are encouraged to to bring a reasonable amount of cash that will be exchanged upon arrival. 

Major credits cards such as Mastercard & Visa cards are accepted in new high end establishments. And ATM stops are available

What to Pack:

Cote d’Ivoire is hot & humid. October is the tail-end of the raining season, please make light linen light clothing, comfortable walking shoes and a few beach ready outfits. We highly encourage 1 or 2 nice evening attire, you never know when the local will through a small gathering for the visitors.
